Allowing nature to take its course

Updated: Nov 10, 2018

Upon October, autumn, I was waiting for the leaves to transform its colours but this year we have had an unusual hot summer and is experiencing an unusual mild autumn too. I was waiting to see the spectrum of beautiful yellow, orange and red colours of autumn but there’s nothing we can do to change the colours of the leaves, not without artificial intervention. Finally in November, now in its perfect timing, the colours have changed and this reminds me that sometimes, we need to allow nature to take its course so that the trees will remain healthy and will be ready to flourish when the next season comes. For this to happen, we need patience, faith and hope. The same applies to many areas in our lives – maturity in physical and mental development, experiences and failures to allow character building just to name a few and I’m sure you can think of more. Before GoRendang, I've never aspired to be a business owner, not until 18 years later in my career life. Looking back, I don't think I would be able to handle the stress, criticism, fear and challenges if I were to embark on my own back then. The same for children if they are being pushed too hard to outperform themselves at the age where they are not even ready (whether its natural talent or due to extremely supportive parents), they may not be able to handle the fame and stress later on as inwardly, they are still children! So yes, I'm like that tree, allowing myself to go through the process of mental and character development and maturity before I am prepared to welcome the new journey in my business life. Definitely without regrets.
